End of Summer

My neighbor has a new baby girl and I offered to make a Halloween costume for her as a "welcome home" gift.   Her mom wanted Raggedy Ann, so I thought I better make one for American Girl as practice.   The costume was very successful (and, I'm sorry to say, has sold), but I wanted to "show it off".   I will publish a picture of the little one in her costume in late October.

This is my final Halloween Costume for this year, a Midnight Magic Princess.   This would also make a wonderful Holiday gift for any girl who loves princesses.

I still have available my final witch costume for this year.  It is a colorful, purple and green striped fairy tail witch.   Polka dots, a little bling, and many colors - it is a really fun outfit.

School is starting, so I  have created two "back to school" dresses for the Kit and Ruthie.

Finally, I created a more "everyday" Regency dress and Bonnet for American Doll Caroline. Someday I hope to have a real Caroline Doll to photograph in these dresses.  This is a very pretty dress, and reasonably priced.

Summertime - Gardens and Butterflies

I've been busy in the gardens this year.   We are busy now harvesting the last of the tomatos, watermelons, cantaloupes, zucchinis, and peppers.   My spice garden attracted the swallowtail butterfly and I watched as 5 little eggs grew into larva.  They vanished when it was time to pupate, but I hope all of them became beautiful swallowtails.

I was busy in the sewing room, and in the "shipping" department.   It was a good month for sales at CSB Sews Doll Clothes.   Some of the newly created outfits sold immediately, before I had a chance to post them (I have marked them sold).   Just a reminder that to get immediate notification of new items from CSB Sews, follow me on FacebookTwitter or Pinterest.

Here's whats new from CSB Sews this July:

Victorian Walking Suit with Hat:

 1970's Ensemble for Julie:

Gothic Witch - (Sold)

Gypsy Costume for Halloween (sold).

Thanks for visiting.

June is Bustin' Out All Over

I have four new outfits to offer in June, well three actually (The Ballet Costume  sold the minute it was listed).    Two of the available new outfits are specifically for the summer season.    And the final one is a witch costume for Halloween 2014.   I'm starting early this year so that I can meet the demand.   This is a good time to remind you that I only make one of each of my witches for the season.

This is the only Party Rockin' Witch I will make for 2014:

Retro Summertime Dress with Hat

Southern Summer Picnic Dress with Bonnet & Basket

"Giselle" Ballet Costume with Shoes (Sold)

Back in a couple of weeks with more costumes.

Thanks for looking,

Springtime Magic

More new ensembles from CSBsews Doll Clothes on Etsy.    The magic of spring really spoke to me this year, so I created a sparkling Woodland Fairy costume for the dolls.   All parts of the costume sparkle and the poly ombre in the dress and wings is really beautiful.

Spring also is the time for Dance Recitals, so I have fashioned a gold and silver sparkling Tuxedo tap costumes (with tap shoes) for our dancing doll Isabelle.   She'll be the star of the show in this costume.

Visit my Etsy shop for more information and pictures.

Back in a month..

American Girl Doll Clothes for Spring 2014

This spring I spent time investigating patterns available around the web for American Girl Doll Clothes.   (See my Squidoo Lens - Sewing Clothes for American Girl Dolls - Patterns and Tips).   I have created three new looks for spring using two of  my favorite pattern makers.   All the designs are available at CSB Sews Doll Clothes on Etsy.

These two dresses were created using modified designs from Keepers Dolly Duds.   The first is an adorable Spring ensemble, complete with "Easter Bonnet".

This Edwardian frock (circa 1914) is perfect for American Girl Doll Rebecca.

Finally, I created the showpiece for Spring 2014, a Regency ensemble ( Dress, Spencer Jacket and Bonnet) for American Girl Doll Caroline Staub.   The Jacket and Bonnet were created using patterns from MHD Designs.   The Dress was also inspired by an MHD Design.

I

Again, these are available in my Etsy Store.    Thanks for looking!!
