Nursery Rhyme Costumes for American Girl Dolls

I love nursery rhymes.   A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Lewis Stevenson was one of my favorite childhood books.  Besides being just plain fun, nursery rhymes are important for young children because they help develop an ear for our language. Both rhyme and rhythm help kids hear the sounds and syllables in words, which helps kids learn to read!   I hope nursery rhymes and nursery rhyme games are a part of your child's playtime!

I have created a category in my Esty store for costumes based on Nursery Rhymes.   Here are three ensembles currently available at CSB Sews Doll Clothes on Etsy.

Mary, Mary quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells
and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row:

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down
and broke his crown
and Jill came tumbling after.

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
and doesn't know where to find them.
Leave them alone and
they'll come home,
Dragging their tails behind them.
